This beautiful wood carving depicts the ancient Mayan Temple of Kukulcan in Chichen, Itza Mexico. The temple served as the home of the deity of Kukulcan, a feathered serpent deity close related to Quetzalcoatl known to the Aztecs and other Post Classic period cultures in Mexico. On top of temple the artist also depicts the God of Maiz, the Jaguar Warrior, and the Kukulcan deity itself.
